Twilight, travelling and social media research

We are a group of Swedish tourism researchers from Mid Sweden University’s European Tourism Research Institute (ETOUR), the Center for Tourism, University of Gothenburg and the University of Boras.

We are interested in the extent and nature of Twilight related travelling, e.g. visits to Twilight events, visits at film locations or destinations portrayed in the books, community get-togethers, camping for premieres and participation at conventions. We are also interested in the use of social media (e.g. Facebook, Twitter and online communities) and its link to the planning of Twilight related travelling.

By answering the questions in this survey you can contribute to the development of knowledge about the interests and travel habits of the Twilight community. We would like to stress that this research is only for academic, non-commercial purposes.

Please, click on the link and submit your answers. It will take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete the questionnaire. Your responses will be anonymously registered and only used for analysis on an aggregate level. No individual responses can be identified.

Are you hoping that the honeymoon in Breaking Dawn is hotter than fade to black which made us fade to sad? Will Bill Condon take some creative liberties and push the PG-13 envelope? Will Robert Pattinson need a modesty patch? Okay. You might not being thinking the last one but truth be told lots of Robsessed girls are! Don’t lie.

We know there have been tons of petitions to make Breaking Dawn rated ‘R.’ But in reality there are some very racy scenes in PG-13 movies. We brought up the sex scene in The Notebook to Stephenie Meyer during our interview. The Notebook is PG-13. We were floored that she has never seen the movie since we consider it an amazing love story. We assured her that if you didn’t have time to watch the whole movie, just watch the juicy clip…(here you go Steph).

Stephenie has two approaches to this honeymoon scene. She wants it “steamy,” but she knows young ones will go and watch the movie, so she would also like it 13 year old appropriate. I think we can find a happy medium after watching the clip above, don’t you?

In addition to soaking up the sun with boyfriend Jason Trawick during their recent Hawaiian getaway, the pop star toured a wedding chapel at Maui’s Grand Wailea resort on Thursday and, two days later, teared up while watching a wedding below their hotel room balcony.

While the couple, who’ve been dating for more than a year, are going strong, they don’t have any immediate plans to tie the knot just yet, a source tells PEOPLE.

“They’re really taking things day by day and really enjoying their time,” says the source, adding that Spears, who turns 29 in December, and Trawick, 38, “of course” talk about the future.

Another source credits the couple’s relationship for helping the singer – who was previously married to Kevin Federline – to mature.

Trawick, who was previously Spears’s agent, “really cares for her, deeply cares for the kids and loves her,” says the second source.

A specific date of release for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on DVD has yet to be set (and this is not surprising considering the film is still in theaters in a lot of areas of the U.S.), but chances are, the film will hit DVD and Blu-Ray sometime this fall/winter, and there is a lot to look forward to from that occasion!

1. DVD release parties: When Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon were released to DVD/Blu-Ray, Borders, Blockbuster, Walmart, and others threw midnight DVD release parties across the country, and several of the parties included guest appearances by the cast and filmmakers. With The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, no doubt, there’ll be similar festivities arranged to ring in the occasion! It should be interesting to see who makes a stop where this time around.
