We’ve been waiting all week for the premiere of The Lying Game on ABC Family – the new hot new series about twins Emma Sutton and placing the switch and then mysteriously disappears Sutton! The show is here Monday night at 9 pm ET and CG is updated with the stars, Kristen Prout. It stands as the Twilight vampire, Lucy and is now playing the best friend of Charlotte Sutton in The Lying Game. Kristen responds to us about how she is like her character, if Team Edward or Team Jacob, and what it means to be part of Young Hollywood is like the real thing!
Cosmogirl: What’s it like being on the set of The Lying Game?
Kristen Prout: It’s very refreshing. The cast is honest, kind of inclusive and talented. That rarely sanity and talent in one package, but all our girls and boys are good, honest people with great careers ahead of them.
CG: Do you like your character chipboard Char?
KP: A Char and I love to buy. . . a bit much. We are also a bit alarmist, I have a panic qu side, although I am a little less hysterical. . . Most of the time!
CG: How are you different?
KP: Char is much more obsessed with popularity. She just tries to be too social and have good intentions, but just not healthy to stifle a nervous breakdown every time he sees a social gaffe. I, however, I have not even begun to understand the art of the queen bee.
CG: What is the worst lie you’ve ever said?
KP: I was always the worst lies are told in relationships – I’ve learned not to lie about their happiness in order to save someone’s feelings being hurt. It always ends up being much worse in the future. It is better to be honest about how you feel.
CG: What do you think the worst lie ever told?
KP: I dated a guy for over a year that he lied about his age all the time. I learned after the fact and could not believe it! He even gave a birthday party for the wrong age … I could not believe how much she had tried to keep secret! It was really pathetic and embarrassing!
CG: How does it feel to be in Eclipse?
KP: Being part of the Twilight phenomenon changed my life, there is a whole different world in the Twilight fandom! Go to the premieres and meet the fans who live and breathe books and movies are pretty awesome.
CG: Are you Team Edward or Jacob?
KP: I will start a new story and not pick favorites – these heroes do not need more fans! They are made for life.
CG: Who is the celebrity that you like?
KP: Who can resist the guys from True Blood? All of them. Please do not try to choose!
CG: How would you describe your style?
KP: Bohemian polished. I love summer dresses with cowboy boots, shorts with wedge heels and a great big piece of turquoise. I also like classical, and romantic style of Old Hollywood. I am a country girl meets city girl around 1930.
CG: Explain what it means to be part of the “young Hollywood”?
KP: Young Hollywood’s overexposed and misunderstood. I think anyone can find fault with someone who shares much of themselves. With the media today, these young artists who would normally have to carry an air of mystery, announce every thought, through the moving image. Everyone makes mistakes, while we’re young, but now it’s just easier to make the same mistakes that are immortalized through technology. I think it’s just important to remember that everyone, especially young people, changing almost every week, and we are always learning.
