After watching the second part of the vampire film, the former lead singer of Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, decides to make his new solo album
Vocalist of the legendary group Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks returns to the media spotlight with his new solo album, In Your Dreams, an album that the artist has devoted his young friend Sarah, who died of cancer in 2008, which came after seeing the Tape New Moon of the saga Twilight (Twilight) .
“She was 21 when we met, and had four battling the disease. We had much contact over the next three years. In 2008, just after finishing a tour with Fleetwood Mac, flew to his home in Pennsylvania, and spent several hours together. He died three days later, “she said Nicks. “30 years ago my best friend (Robin Anderson) died of leukemia, and Sara’s death caused me to experience very similar feelings. I loved my music and encouraged me all the time to make a new album. It was a tough loss, and I have dedicated this album because I think he belongs, “he added.
In Your Dreams (Warner) has seen the light with a decade of difference from Trouble In Shangri La, the last album the singer born in Phoenix.
“I would have liked to have done much earlier. In 2005, after a tour of 135 concerts with Fletwood Mac, I felt the need to record, “she said.
“The trouble is that all the people who were around, my friends, my agent, record company people … I said it was a terrible time to release a record, because piracy was doing much damage. Instead of doing what I wanted, it would have been more correct, I ignored everyone and quit on the record, “she lamented Nicks.
Blood, sweat and music
Four years after that bitter decision, the singer reunited the spirits of the most unexpected way.
“It was December 2009 and we were in Australia. I went to the cinema to see the second part of the saga Twilight , and that night I wrote the song Moonlight “she recalled.
“The next day I told my assistant that she was ready to make a new album. I do not care what the world might say, wanted to make an album and was going to do. I went home and started working without rest. Between February and May 2010 we recorded the first seven songs, and the remaining six between June and December, “he explained.
Secret Love, For What It’s Worth, Soldier’s Angel, Ghosts Are Gone or You May Be The One are some of the thirteen pieces collected in In Your Dreams, an album that Nicks has performed with the help of producer Dave Stewart (formerly of Eurythmics who has worked with Tom Petty and Mick Jagger, among others).
“Seven of these songs are written with Dave. I had never been interested in composing with another person, but suddenly I could understand why John Lennon and Paul McCartney did, or Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein, or any of the great teams of composers in history, “says the singer.
“I’ve always been very selfish when it comes to my songs. But Dave is a generous person, without any ego. I play a little guitar and piano, but I know thousands of chords, Dave himself, but he had a book with forty poems. When those two things together, left a record like In Your Dreams “, he said.
In Stewart’s own initiative, the recording has been recorded in a documentary.
The singer did not rule out Fleetwood Mac back to the studio in the near future.
“We are waiting. Each time we gather is to do something big. We made an album in 2003 (Say You Will), and then came a three-year tour. Maybe we propose it soon, but the truth is that right now I’m focused on enjoying In Your Dreams, “she said.
