Too Soon?
Was Remember Me made ‘too soon’ after the event? Some detractors criticized it for that. Well, first of all other films preceded it.World Trade Center, with Nicholas Cage, 2006, for example, was five years after the fact. And Adam Sandler’s Reign Over Mecame out in 2007. The lauded From Here to Eternity, about Pearl Harbor, was out in 1953. When is the right time, after 10 years, 15, 20, 25, after a generation has passed?

Remember Me in The Mix Tape’s List of “Five Films Made in the Aftermath of 9/11 We’re Thinking About This Week”
Posted by Maria • No Comments »

From The Mix Tape

As Americans reflect on the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, it is a good time to look back on some of the films that tried to capture this moment in American history by giving an on-screen experience to the widespread, unfathomable devastation.
Here are five films we’re thinking about this week as we remember those lost on that tragic day.

Remember Me (2010)

“Remember Me” was not marketed as a film about Sept. 11 or terrorism, but the fall of the World Trade Center does factor into the plot of this love story starring Robert Pattinson and Emilie de Ravin. The film, directed by Allen Coulter and written by Will Fetters, gives subtle hints to the Sept. 11 subplot throughout the film. In the beginning of the film, the audience is told the film is set in New York City in 2001, but it would take a keen viewer to connect the dots, as the year isn’t mentioned again until the very end of the film. “Remember Me” is not a happy romantic film. The story focuses on two lovers: Tyler (Pattinson) and Ally (de Ravin) who are beginning a relationship as they try to get over Ally’s mother’s murder and the divorce of Tyler’s parents in the wake of his brother’s suicide. “Remember Me” will air on TMC at 5:25 p.m. Saturday.

9/11 Themed Movies

From USA Today

As the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks approaches, television will commemorate the day with specials and documentaries. But at the nation’s cineplexes, there is considerably less ceremony.

Films such as Oliver Stone’s World Trade Center (2006) and Paul Greengrass‘ critically lauded United 93 (2006) found respectable audiences while fending off criticism when sensitivities were still high. The criticism even stung films with a tangential relationship to the attack, such as 2010′s Remember Me. The Robert Pattinson drama featured a 9/11 surprise ending, which took a “drubbing” says producer Nick Osborne.

“Everyone was, to a certain extent, terrified of doing it,” Osborne says. “It’s such a sensitive topic. But it was the right ending.”

This must be the true charm of him! Robert Pattinson of the “Twilight” shows spontaneous act with stubble―August 15th, 2011

You will enjoy Rob’s charm different from “Twilight”; sexiness and expression. [c]2010 Summit Entertainment,LLC.

It is official the latest “Twilight” series, “Twilight saga, Breaking Dawn Part 1″ will be released on Saturday February 25th, 2012, it looks like aka RPattz, Robert Pattinson will bite the ladies heart all over the world once again. The Robert Pattinson we had been seen in Japan so far was from somehow have a dark side Vampire Edward, to Cedric Digory in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire” he casted when he was 19 years old, his characters had unique characteristics and a bit mysterious image. But in this “Remember Me”; opens Saturday August 20th, it looks like he will show us his usual himself, his spontaneous act sure do fascinate us.

As he tells us “I really wanted to do this part. Tyler is just like usual me.” he has his passion in this movie. His passion really shows that he took a part of the executive producer. He was so busy right after “Twilight saga, New Moon” (2009) though he led the shoot for “Remember Me”; as he says usual himself, worn-out stripe shirt with stubble, he seems to like his character Tyler.

Unfortunately it took so long to see him in this movie, the fans in Japan must had been long waited for the opening day. You should see his new charm in the big screen. Not only “Twilight saga”, but hoping we could be able to see more Robert’s movies will shown in Japan. Until then, you have to keep eye on the shocking last!
